It was on this date in 2014 (April 24th) that the diving world learned of the tragic death of Legendary Diving Coach DONNIE CRAINE. Donnie was the 1985 NCAA Men’s Diving Coach of the Year and NINE times was named SEC Coach of the Year while coaching at University of Florida and at LSU. In his 37 year coaching career, Donnie coached FIVE NCAA Champions.
The photos below were from the 2015 SEC Championships and include all of the then SEC Coaches, Judges and Table Workers who all knew and loved Donnie. The signed shirt included the logo from “Triple Twist Charters” — an organization that “Captain Donnie” started with the intent to share his love of fishing to underprivileged children after he retired from coaching. The shirt and photo was framed and sent to his beloved wife Mindy and their three children (Keith, Christopher and Stephanie).
